Biography



Jean-Christophe Lanièce learned music from an early age in the Maitrise de Caen. He began his higher studies at the Maitrise de Notre-Dame de Paris and in 2013 he joined, 1st Named, the Conservatoire National Supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris in the class of Yves Sotin.

Several roles made him enter the scene with enthusiasm: Herr Fluth in Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor (Nicolai), Eneas in Dido and Eneas (Purcell), Comte Robinson in Il Matrimonio Segreto (Cimarosa), Belcore in the Elisir of Amore (Donizetti).

He was the Young Prospero in Purcell's Miranda (Opéra Comique, directed by Raphaël Pichon, and Katie Mitchell), Marcello, in Bohème, notre jeunesse, after Puccini (Opéra Comique, directed by Alexandra Cravero and Pauline Bureau).

He performed in concert with the Orchester de Cannes in Carmina Burana directed by Benjamin Levy and in the Te Deum Charpentier directed by Hervé Niquet.

2018-2019 was marked by the performance of his first Pelléas at the Opéra Comique in a concert version with Stéphane Degout. He played Nekrotzar in Ligeti's Le Grand Macabre at the Philharmonie de Paris with the Ensemble Intercontemporain directed by Matthias Pintscher. He was Gaston in Les P'tites Michu de Messager with Les Brigands at the Théâtre de Caen and at the Opéra de Reims and Le Perruquier in Ariadne auf Naxos by Strauss at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. In the programming of Les Grandes Voix at the TCE, he is Brétigny in Manon de Massenet alongside Juan-Diego Florez.

The same year, he was a laureate of the Orsay-Royaumont Academy with pianist Romain Louveau and gave several recitals with Susan Manoff, Anne Le Bozec and Ludmila Berlinskaia. He finished the season alongside Sabine Devieilhe and Ensemble Melismes for Mozart's High Mass in C at the Rocamadour Festival.

In 2019-2020, you will see him during a European tour of recitals with Romain Louveau. He will also be a Priest and an Armoured Man in The Magic Flute by Mozart at the Opéra d’Avignon and at the Royal Opera of Versailles. At the Capitole de Toulouse, he will perform Momus in Platée by Rameau and will be Don Quichotte in an adaptation of Massenet's Don Quichotte at the Opéra Comique.
